MK Cycles are a local family owned business that has been established for over 40 years. We are a husband and wife team who love cycling and the outdoors. We love what we do and hope it shows.
Our main area of expertise is bike servicing, inc road, mountain, hybrid and everything in between, including prams and Olympic rugby wheelchair wheels!
We are an official Madison, Genesis, Saracen and Ridgeback dealer. We sell bikes, mainly road and hybrid and also get secondhand bikes in for sale too, as well as selling parts.
Our goal is to support you on your cycling journey.
Everyone is welcome!
Important changes for MK Cycles Ltd. Please Read!
Firstly, we want to say THANK YOU so much to our amazing customers old and new who have continued to support our small family business throughout what has been a tough 18 months for everyone.
We are the busiest we have ever been and are incredibly thankful for this.
As an industry we have seen many highs, lows and changes in the way we now do business.
This has lead us to look at the MK model and change the way we work to suit the needs of what's most important to us, our family.
As you know, we love our customers like family too and we understand the decisions we have made may not suit everyone and haven't been taken lightly.
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to not continue on with the café side of the business. This means no more coffee, cakes or Carrs pasties. This will also mean that I (Laura) will no longer be working in the shop. I will, however, be developing my own little venture Avery Bakes UK,
Ryan will continue to work on an appointment only basis. You must have a pre arranged appointment before visiting the shop. This system means Ryan will be able to give you his undivided attention without any interruptions. It will also mean turn around time on services etc. should be quicker. We are also continuing to priorities those who have purchased bikes from MK in the past, however, if given enough notice we may look at bikes that have been purchased elsewhere.
As a business it is not financially viable for us to fit parts purchased elsewhere (unless we are unable to source them ourselves). We understand the market is incredibly competitive and you may well be able to buy cheaper elsewhere, however, you wouldn't then receive the knowledge, experience and 1 to 1 dedicated time with a highly trained bike mechanic such as Ryan. We always have our customers best interests at heart and will do everything we can to source the best products for the best price.
Our opening hours and going to stay as they have been for the foreseeable future, Monday to Friday 6am -12noon. On occasion, we may book people in during out of shop hours depending on individual circumstances.
We hope you can understand the reasons behind these decisions. After a tough 18months we've realised more than ever that family is the most important thing to us. You only live once, live it with those you love.
All bikes must be booked in by appointment only.
We are unable to do any on the spot or quick jobs unless they have been booked in.
We have been inundated with voicemails and so, as of now, unless you leave your name, number, and a message as to what it is regarding, we will be unable to return your call.
We aim to come back to all correspondents within 24 hours.
There will be no need to continue to wear a face mask in the shop unless you feel uncomfortable.
For your piece of mind Ryan will continue to be strict on regular hand washing and wearing gloves, as he always does.
Our suppliers are still operating but orders are expected to take a few days to arrive.
Not been feeling yourself lately? Lost with no direction? Want to make a change but don't know where to start? Don't know who to talk to?
Talk to Ryan in a safe and friendly environment, we may be able to help.
