MK Customer Spotlight December 2019

Alan Morris

What bike(s) you have?

Cervelo S3
Planet X SL Pro

When and why you started cycling?

I've always cycled, from cycling to work as a lad in the 80’s but that was more commuting back then, I started mountain biking approx 15 years ago, which was suggested as a way to lose a little weight so decided to jump in and give it a go. I quickly learnt that bigger lads struggle going uphill.. I did it anyway but much preferred going downhill. Over the past 10/12 years I've concentrated on road cycling,

How much do you ride?

To be honest I’m now a fare weather cyclist :( I love getting out on quality roads (when the car drivers are behaving and understanding). Now I look forward to my regular cycling/Ironman training trips to Portugal & Lanzarote to make the most of our winter but can’t wait to get out as I now have to get the miles in (on the road or Zwift)

Where’s your favourite place to cycle?

Locally my fave place to ride is, Cragg Vale, Littleborough, Hebden Bridge and back over to Belmont, including some of the Ironman UK bike routes but love getting out to Portugal and the Algarve which I’ve been going to for 5/6 years now, If you really want to test your cycling ability you need to try Lanza.

How long have you been coming to MK Cycles?

Think I’ve know Ryan at MK approx 9 years now. He always looks after me and my bikes, services done last min before flying out to Austria at times and upgrades done efficiently with great guidance and honesty when I’ve not really known what I want ;)

Do you have a goal, funny cycling story etc anything else you’d like to add?

Started triathlons and went to the top doing Ironman events in 2009, I’ve done Ironman UK 3 times, Ironman Austria 3 times, Ironman Switzerland and Ironman Lanzarote… Looking to do Ironman Portugal in 2020 and hope to improve on my personal goals in the future years.

Good Luck Alan with all your challenges coming up. We'll be with you all the way! MK Cycles
