MK Customer Spotlight November 2019

Name

Kevin Munro

Age

47

What bike(s) you have?

Cervelo S3 2018 and a Marin Nail Trail

When and why you started cycling?

1985?-ish, as a result of watching Ch4 coverage of the Tour de France with the likes of Stephen Roche, Robert Millar, Sean Kelly, Greg Lemonde,

How much do you ride?

3 times a week. 2 short but intense sessions in the week and 1 long ride out on a weekend

Where’s your favourite place to cycle?

I love the challenge of the Rivington/Belmont area and the Ribble Valley, but equally love a ride out along the lanes out towards Southport and Formby from Chorley.

How long have you been coming to MK Cycles?

Approaching 12 months now. We found you on social media and called in one Saturday morning for coffee and cake. Got talking to Ryan and it became a regular haunt (you cant beat great coffee, homemade cake and a woodburning stove!). Ryan maintains my bike and did a fantastic job of keeping on top of maintenance during training and on the run up to Ironman Bolton in July, where it never missed a beat, and upkeep since!!

Do you have a goal, funny cycling story etc anything else you’d like to add?

My 2020 goals are to ‘tame the dragon’ at Ironman Wales in Tenby in Sept 2020. Having done Bolton this year and completed one of the toughest 140.6 mile Ironman events there is i was told to go flat and fast for my next one. So i booked Ironman Wales which is another of the toughest there is hahaha. I do have a flat and fast Ironman distance one booked which is Outlaw Triathlon in July 2020 where i aim to go sub 12hrs. My other challenge is to go sub 4hrs for a marathon!! Mid-life crisis or what?
